  • Comprehensive Evaluation

    Berry Speech Academy will work with your family to identify areas of concern for you child. Standardized assessments will be administered to fully evaluate your child’s speech and language skills. The comprehensive evaluation will identify areas of strength and skills that can be addressed in therapy.

    Evaluations are being conducted in the following areas: speech sound development, receptive, expressive and pragmatic language, fluency, as well as augmentative and alternative communication needs.

    After an evaluation is conducted, a written report will be provided to your family explaining test results and a detailed therapy treatment plan with goals will be created.

Berry Speech Academy is able to offer speech-language pathology services virtually. Our speech therapists are licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and able to provide tele-therapy services to anyone located within the state.

Virtual Therapy

IEP Consultation

Our team has experienced school based speech-language pathologists with a wealth of knowledge regarding the IEP process. If you are feeling overwhelmed or would like help navigating the IEP process, an IEP consult is right for you. The consult would include a review of your child’s present education levels, their goals, their progress, the proposed recommendations, etc. At the end of the consult, parents would feel that they fully understand their rights as a parent and how to be an active contributor to their child’s IEP. This service is available for families in the Pittsburgh area as well as the entire state of Pennsylvania.

Free Community Speech and Language Screenings in the South and North Hills of Pittsburgh

Berry Speech Academy provides free speech and language screenings to local preschools and daycares in the South and North Hills of Pittsburgh. Would you like your child to be screened at their school? Are you a preschool/daycare provider looking to provide a FREE service to your families? Berry Speech Academy is currently offering complimentary phone consults. After an initial phone consult, we can schedule your child for a comprehensive evaluation and/or individual therapy sessions at either of our office locations. Offices are located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, in Upper St. Clair or the North Hills of Pittsburgh, in Wexford.

Parents and/or caregivers are encouraged to participate to learn therapy techniques for carryover, however, they are not required to attend. Tele-therapy is available in the state of Pennsylvania.

Berry Speech Academy is in network with Highmark/BCBS and UPMC commercial plans. At this time, we are unable to bill state funded plans including UPMC For You. If your plan is not covered, we offer self pay rates. Families are welcome to pay for sessions using their HSA/FSA accounts. Upon request, a superbill can be generated for clients to submit to their insurance.

We are working to become credentialed with additional insurance companies at this time. This page will be updated as insurance providers are added. If there is a particular plan you would like us to consider accepting, don’t hesitate to reach out!
